El Dorado Exotic Bird Rescue · Cameron Park, CA

A safe place to land. A second chance to soar.

Every companion bird has a story. We're building a community where birds in need are treated with compassion, their needs come first, and their next home is chosen with care.

Why we're here

A little compassion changes everything.

Birds are intelligent, sensitive companions. When life changes for the people who love them, their future shouldn't be left to chance.

El Dorado Exotic Bird Rescue is being created to help owners navigate difficult rehoming decisions and to connect exotic companion birds with people prepared for the responsibility of lifelong care.

Our mission is simple: put each bird's well-being at the center of every decision, approach every surrender with kindness, and make adoption about the right fit—not the fastest placement.

Birds first. People supported. Homes chosen carefully.

What guides us

Care is more than a cage.

These are the standards we're building our rescue around—because a fresh start should mean a better quality of life.

Compassion without judgment

Rehoming a bird is often an emotional decision. We want owners to feel heard, respected, and supported through the process.

Bird-centered care

Health, nutrition, safety, enrichment, and species-specific needs should guide each bird's care and placement.

Thoughtful forever homes

We aim to match birds with adopters who understand the time, space, expense, and commitment their care requires.

The journey forward

From uncertainty to a new beginning.

Our goal is to make the rehoming process intentional, transparent, and centered around the bird.

01

A thoughtful intake

Learn about the bird, its current care, medical history, and whether we have room to help.

02

Time to settle

Plan for appropriate veterinary guidance, separate housing when needed, and an adjustment period.

03

Getting to know them

Understand each bird's personality, daily routine, preferences, and individual requirements.

04

The right match

Screen potential adopters and aim for safe, lasting placements with informed caregivers.
